Subject: Double-clicking to select words and regions of text
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: User Interface
Platform: ALL
Release: 8.5.3
Reproducible: Always
Several years ago when I was working at IBM Sweden, I reported a bunch of Notes client bugs related to the user interface. I see that some of the bugs I reported years ago still remain in Notes 8.5.3.
1. When editing text, double-clicking near the beginning (the left side in left-to-right languages) of a word selects the wrong word — the word to the left of the mouse pointer instead of the word under the pointer.
2. When editing text, double-clicking and then dragging to select a region of words does not work reliably. It works only if one drags to the right and/or down from the originally selected word. It does not work if one drags to the left and/or up from the originally selected word.
3. When editing text, double-clicking a word to select it also selects any spaces that appear to the right of that word.
Has any progress been made on these bugs in the past five years?
